From 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be enforced across Europe. The GDPR actually came into force on 25 May 2016; however organisations have been given 2 years to prepare for the most significant changes we have seen to data protection in over 20 years.
As we are now approaching the halfway point of this preparation period it's important to ask yourself 'is my organisation aware of the changes, and what can I do to prepare?'
The European data protection reform package also includes an update to the current ePrivacy legislation. The new ePrivacy Regulation is scheduled to apply from 25 May 2018. The Regulation is still in draft form but as organisations will have a shorter period to prepare it is important to be aware of the changes.
