Devon County Show sponsor Ashfords LLP is once more going the extra mile to encourage schools to visit the iconic springtime event.

Building on last year's success, Ashfords is providing transport for schools throughout the South West to help scores of youngsters enjoy the excitement and entertainment of the Devon County Show.

Last year, Ashfords helped a number of schools with transport to the Westpoint showground enabling children to join in the three-day experience.

Ashfords partner, Elizabeth Gibson, said: "We are delighted to sponsor schools' transport to the show and help the next generation learn about the important role agriculture and sustainability plays in their lives.

"We are very proud to be involved with the Devon County Show and especially this year as it is celebrating 25 years at Westpoint."

Show secretary Ollie Allen said: "Thanks to the tremendous support of Ashfords Solicitors, hundreds of Devon schoolchildren are able to attend the Show at a time when many school budgets are hard-pressed.

"This year we are focusing on events and activities which promote youth and opportunity in the Devon countryside. Ashfords Solicitors is playing a vital role in enabling young people to participate."

As well as the Devon County Show, Ashfords also sponsor a variety of events and teams within the local community. This includes sponsoring the Exeter Chiefs and their talented players Henry Slade, Sam Blanchett, Justin Blanchett and Rob Coote.

Ashfords also sponsors other teams such as the Kingsbridge RFC Colts XV as well as events including the SWSCA annual dinner.

Ashfords has also sponsored a number of press awards including The Post Business Awards and the Bristol Post and the Bath Chronicle Innovation Award.

As a firm, Ashfords is keen to show its support to the local community and charities, recently sponsoring the Age UK Exeter 10k Race and co-sponsoring of the Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon.

Sponsoring schools is part of Ashfords' commitment to the local community, which is an integral element of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.

Elizabeth said: "CSR is an integral part of our business and our CSR Focus Group is involved in supporting many local community events. We are always delighted to be able to support children's activities.

"This year our adopted charity is the Children's Hospice South West and we have organised a whole host of fundraising events over the coming months."
