GDPR Masterclass for HR Professionals

10.11.17

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will impose new proactive obligations on HR and employers in a number of areas.

Throughout October and November Ashfords' Employment Team and Data Protection Team joined together to produce a number of informative and insightful seminars across the firm's London, Bristol, Exeter and Taunton offices.

The GDPR Masterclass sessions were created specifically for HR professionals, senior executives and business leaders, with the aim of helping attendees to understand what the GDPR changes will mean to them, whilst equipping them with the right information to create a robust GDPR strategy.

Each masterclass has received great feedback from attendees, encouraging lively discussions on the key issues businesses and HR professionals should consider. The session covered;

  • How to process your data in compliance with GDPR, including customer and employee data, subject access requests, data rectification rights, right to be forgotten and breach notification
  • The implications of noncompliance, including the new increased fines of up to the greater of 4% of global annual turnover of £20 million euros
  • Practical steps that you will need to consider
