Ashfords has advised the shareholders of Lexington Catering Limited, a respected London-based caterer with a turnover in excess of £30 million and a combined team of over 650 employees, on the sale of the company to Elior, a world leader in catering services.

Lexington was established in 2002 by Mike Sunley, Katharine Lewis and Rachel Lindner. Since then the company has enjoyed considerable growth and acclaim for delivering food and exceptional service for people at work. The company currently holds contracts across London and the South East of England, including leading law firms, hedge funds and creative agencies.

Elior UK operates high profile catering contracts across the B&I, health & care homes, defence, education, stadia and heritage sectors.

James Lyons, partner in Ashfords' London Corporate Team who led the team advising the shareholders of Lexington said: "We were delighted to be able to play a significant role in assisting the Lexington team on this strategic and exciting transaction for all parties, and we wish the business continued success under new ownership."

Tim West, Chairman of Lexington, commented on the deal: "We are very grateful to James and the Ashfords team for their responsiveness and clear advice throughout the transaction. It was a pleasure to work alongside them, and their attention to the documentation enabled us to focus on key operational matters to take the Lexington business forward as part of the Elior Group."
