A358 Taunton to Southfields - route options consultation

Highways England has confirmed that the next round of consultation for the A358 Taunton to Southfields scheme is due to take place over the coming months.

The route options consultation will run for a 6 week period from Tuesday 16 January 2018 until Tuesday 27 February 2018. At the start of this period, Highways England will confirm the precise details of the route options being proposed. In essence however, the first part of the route (Southfields Roundabout to West Hatch) will remain as previously consulted on - i.e the dualling of the existing road. The key part of this new consultation is the now multiple route options for the stretch from West Hatch to the M5. The previous consultation only put forward a single option..

As previously advised, it is recommended that those affected do review the consultation materials and submit comments, in particular regarding preferences between the expected multiple route options.

It is also understood that Highways England are now continuing their one to one engagement with those directly affected by the proposals by offering meetings.
