On Monday 26 March, Ashfords held a Trainee Solicitor Pre-Joiner Day as part of our Trainee Solicitor programme and invited the future 2018 Trainees to the Exeter office.

The main aim of the day was to welcome the 2018 starters and give them an introduction to the firm.  The afternoon included a networking lunch and speed networking exercise with our current trainees, department talks from a mix of our talented Associates, Solicitors and Legal Directors and a firm welcome from Ashfords' Chairman, Mark Lomas. They then headed off for an evening meal with the current Ashfords trainees.

Thank you to everyone that was involved in the day, it was a great success and it couldn’t have happened without you. We have had wonderful feedback (as you can see below) from the attendees who are all eager to begin their Training Contracts with us in September!

"Thank you for putting the day together. It was a really useful opportunity to meet future colleagues and to understand more about the day-to-day work of different departments. "

"I thought that the afternoon was great. It was very useful to speak to the current trainees about what to expect from the Ashfords Training Contract. It was also very helpful speaking to individuals from Ashfords departments in order to get a greater insight into the type of work to be expected if we undergo a seat. Their talks persuaded me to consider taking a seat that I might otherwise not have chosen. It was also great to meet the individuals on my intake. It will make our first day a lot less daunting as we will all be among familiar faces."

"The Trainee touch point day was great, we were offered an insight into what we were going to be doing when we start as trainees, and met some of the current trainees, who were all very welcoming and enthusiastic about their roles. On the day, I learnt how much of a strong continuing development process there is at Ashfords for their trainees, with ongoing training and lots of opportunities for professional and personal growth. This made me excited to start in September, knowing I'll be supported so well. Before then, there's also been lots of encouraging communication from the HR team since I secured a training contract in August 2016, and I'd say the firm supports future trainees really well."

"I thought it was a fantastic event as I didn’t yet know most of the other starters. It was great to meet them and also to meet the current trainees who were all so lovely and welcoming. While starting will be a little scary, it’s also exciting knowing I’ll be joining such a social and warm group of people."
