Ashfords' Will Scheme for Charity

02.06.15

Ashfords is offering to prepare 10 Wills on a "first come first served" basis for Mind - the mental health charity.

In lieu of the firm's normal charges, Ashfords is inviting people to make a donation to Mind, a charity which provides advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

The Will Scheme for Charity will start on Monday 8 June and expire on Friday 18 June or when the tenth Will has been prepared. The successful applicants will receive a professionally prepared Will and 100 per cent of their donation will go to Mind.

Why write a Will?

Writing a valid Will is the one of the ways you can be sure that your wishes are carried out and your loved ones are provided for after your death. Also, dying without a Will may cause your family the distress of resolving legal problems on top of losing a loved one.

What will my Ashfords Solicitor do as part of this scheme?

  • Your Solicitor will advise you on what you need to take into consideration and meet you to discuss your wishes.
  • Your Solicitor will draft your Will for your approval before finalising it.
  • Instead of paying your Solicitor’s fee, you will be invited to make a donation to charity. The suggested donation for one Will is £100 and for a couple seeking double Wills, £175. These suggestions are equivalent to half the usual fee.
  • If your Will is more complex, you and your Solicitor can agree a separate fee for the extra work outside of the Wills for Mind arrangement.
