Corporate Social Responsibility

Our priorities go beyond business and we are committed to the communities in which we operate.

Our staff lead our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, which we call “Community Matters” because it relates to three types of community:

The Green Community

We take our responsibility to the environment seriously. Activities include planting trees, reducing waste, and making use of local suppliers where possible. We also have our own bee hive – protecting bees, producing honey and giving staff the chance to learn new skills in the process.

The Ashfords Community

We want to provide a positive and rewarding working environment for all employees. We do this through CSR initiatives including arranging staff discounts at local businesses, allowing staff to buy up to three days’ holiday each year and introducing a cycle scheme offering subsidised bikes.

Our Local Community

We raised over £66,000 for Mind in 2015 and over £77,000 in 2016 for Parkinson's UK. Alzheimer's Society is the firm's Charity of the Year for 2017. They are a charity for anyone affected by dementia, who do everything possible keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.

Our Charity of the Year for 2017 will be running until the end of March 2018 and so applications for our new charity for 2018 aren't due to commence until the end of the year. Please check our website again near that time for more information on how you can nominate your own charity.
