We are passionate about having a positive impact on our communities and the wider environment within which we live and work. Through our employee-led firmwide Environmental, Social and Governance programme, we aim to focus our efforts and make a real difference.
Our planet
We are working hard to minimise our impact on the environment through a programme of continual review and improvement to reduce our carbon footprint. Initiatives include making sure we recycle waste and send zero to landfill, purchasing energy generated from renewable sources, and having electric car charging points at our head office.
Our Ashfords community
We want to provide a positive, inclusive and rewarding work environment for all employees. We are signatories to the Law Society’s Charter for Diversity & Inclusion, and have a number of initiatives underway to ensure that everyone can reach their full potential. These include development programmes and our flexible working framework, together with a wellbeing and benefits strategy that supports the physical and mental health, and financial needs of our people .
Our wider communities
We are active members of our wider communities through initiatives such as The Ashfords Foundation, as well as programmes for local schools such as our ‘Aspire’ work experience programme for year 10 students and our and skill sharing programmes for local schools.
Return to work days
We informally host "Return to Work" days for those looking to return to work - either from long term illness, repatriation, parental leave - or those wishing to consider a career change. "Return to Work" is aimed at giving individuals a "real-world" experience of being a part of one of our dynamic teams for the day.
We hold skill-sharing sessions with schools throughout the year. For example the Ashfords Employment Team held an "Introduction to Employment Law" workshop for year nine students at Heathfield Community School in Taunton. Students witnessed a mock employment tribunal and a few days later, were given the task of acting out the tribunal case.
