| We are delighted to announce that we won the 2006 LawCareers.net trophy for best training provided by a medium-sized regional firm and have been a
Lex 100 listed firm in an amazing fifteen categories over the past two years, with work-life balance and friendliness gaining particular praise. |
- We welcome students onto our Work Experience Scheme each summer, between June and September.
- We appreciate however that you may have to work throughout the summer to help your cash flow, which means that you may not be able to come to us during those times. If so, please let us know and we will see if another date can be arranged.
- During your week with us, you would experience the work of five different departments, to give you a feel for the range of the work that we do. You are likely to be expected to do some real work each day in the different departments, to demonstrate your abilities to us!
- You will be assigned to a Trainee Mentor during your week with us. You will be able to discuss all questions that occur to you during the week with them. At the end of the week, you will also have the opportunity of chatting to a senior lawyer about your week with us, and to go through the answers to the exercise that we will set you at the beginning of the week.
- Don't worry if you are a non-law student: the exercise requires no real legal knowledge!
You should apply for a placement with us on the same
Application Form on which you apply for a training contract. The form should be returned to us before the end of March in the year during which you would like your Placement. |
We regard the Work Experience Scheme very much as the first taster of Ashfords life for our future Trainees. We therefore cannot consider applications for work experience from students who will not be applying to us for a Training Contract.
