Ella Nyakuedzwa-Smith

Ella is a Trainee Solicitor within the Commercial and Intellectual Property Team.

Ella deals with a range of work within the team from trade mark disputes to the drafting of contractual agreements. Ella previously completed a seat in the Property Litigation department where she dealt with a variety of contentious property matters.

Prior to joining Ashfords Ella gained experience as a Paralegal in a Bristol based firm working within the Civil Litigation department.

Ella is also a committee member of the Devon and Somerset Junior Lawyers Division fulfilling the role of Communications Secretary.

Relevant Experience

  • Assisted in negotiating and drafting the terms of a commercial Agency Agreement, with particular emphasis on the termination provisions governed by the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993.
  • Assisted in drafting various terms and conditions for use in B2C contracts.
  • Assisted in drafting various terms and conditions for use in B2B contracts.
  • Assisted in assessing a case of potential trade mark infringement, providing advice to the client as to how best to deal, from a commercial standpoint, with said infringement.
