Recent work undertaken includes:
-
acting for a Claimant who was injured in a road traffic accident and who suffered significant psychological injuries affecting her work and social life. Arranging for the Claimant to undergo comprehensive counselling sessions from a service specialising in road accident victims before negotiating settlement shortly after proceedings were issued;
-
representing a partially blind Claimant facing serious allegations of fraud and conspiracy in relation to a road traffic accident in which she was a passenger. Pursuing the claim to a final Court hearing where our client was successful and she achieved a higher award of compensation than any of the Defendant's offers made at the "eleventh hour" ;
- acting for a student who sustained significant injuries whilst travelling on the motorway when she was in collision with a stationary car (involved in a previous accident) and was also shunted from behind by another car. Despite difficulties tracing witnesses to confirm the chain of events, we successfully negotiated settlement on a 50:50 basis. The claim for compensation included loss of potential earnings in the university holidays, the extra rental costs of her student flat due to her disability and the psychological impact of the accident on her confidence when driving. Achieving a settlement of the compensation claim shortly after proceedings were issued;
- acting for a Claimant who sustained an injury to his dominant thumb in a road traffic accident which required several operations and left him with reduced grip and persistent pain so that he was eventually forced to give up his self-employed business. The Claimant brought a successful Court action which included a significant claim for past and future loss of earnings and which settled out of Court;
-
acting for a lorry driver who was injured whilst delivering aggregates to a customer's yard when he lost his footing and suffered a broken leg when a strap on his lorry broke when he was securing the trailer. Successfully resisting allegations of contributory negligence and settling the claim in full without the need to issue Court proceedings; and
-
acting for a client who was sexually abused as a child whilst in care and achieving compensation in an "out of Court" settlement.
