Specialising in mainstream corporate transactional work, George has led major projects for a number of the firm's significant clients. His work principally involves the sale and purchase of private companies and businesses, as well as advising on equity finance raising, joint ventures (both putting them together and taking them apart), LLPs and partnerships, and corporate governance.
 
George joined Ashfords in 1996, after practice in the City of London and Bristol.

Outside practice, George is involved in the wider business community in the South West, and has held several non-executive board and trustee appointments.

Recent projects include:

• Advice and support to the in-house legal department of Pennon Group PLC on the acquisitions by Viridor Waste Management Limited of Grosvenor Waste Management Limited, London Recycling Limited, Intercontinental Recycling Limited and Reconomy Solutions;
• Advising Crumb Rubber Limited on a venture capital investment into it by Foresight Ventures;
• Advice and support to the in-house legal department of Pennon Group PLC on certain corporate aspects of Viridor Waste Management Limited's participation in the Greater Manchester Waste PFI Project; and
• Advising Carbonarius Limited on its joint venture with MITIE Asset Management Projects Limited for building and operating a waste biomass energy facility in Plymouth.
