James is a Partner specialising in estate planning, trusts, elderly client and capacity issues dealing with high net worth clients, including retired, entrepreneurs / business owners and incapacitated clients.

James joined Ashfords in 1975, becoming a Partner in 1976. Prior to joining Ashfords James worked at Stanley & Co (now Beachcroft) and spent 9 months in South Africa.

James is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a Notary Public. He is on the Court of Protection Receivers'/Deputies' Panel and a member of the Charity Law Association.
