Ruth is a Partner in the Projects / PFI department. She joined Ashfords in 2005, prior to which she trained and qualified at Wragge & Co in Birmingham. Ruth has significant experience advising Authorities, SPV's and Contractors in PPP / PFI transactions in a range of sectors including waste, accommodation and infrastructure.

- advising Viridor Waste Management in its capacity as Operating Contractor on the £3billion Manchester Waste PFI Project;
- advising Biffa Waste Services Limited in relation to its bids for the Leicestershire Waste PFI, the Sandwell Waste Project and the Tomorrow's Valley Waste Project (Wales);
- Bristol Leisure PFI - advising the lender in relation to this PFI project for the construction and operation of a leisure centre in Bristol with an anticipated value of circa £30 million;
- UK Identity and Passport Service - advising a major European technology manufacturer on its bid to supply biometric data storage and transmission components to the private sector entity who has been selected as a preferred bidder for the contract to provide the UK Identity and Passport Service with e-passports for a 10 year period;
- advising Viridor Waste Management on the Somerset Waste Management PPP which involved the acquisition of Somerset County Council's waste disposal company for £25million, a long term services contract, a PFI-style project agreement for the provision of a new waste treatment facility and a Strategic Partnering Agreement;
- advising Viridor Waste Management Limited on its bids for a number of waste Projects;
- advising the South West of England Regional Development Agency on a £10million funding package involving the construction of Phase 2 of the Exeter Innovation Centre along with the procurement of a private sector service provider for the operation of Exeter Innovation Centre;
- advising Somerset County Council on its £45million PFI Scheme for the provision of 2 new Magistrates Courts and Probation centres in Bristol and North Somerset;
- advising the SPV on a £17million PFI scheme for 3 police custody centres in Cheshire;
- advising the Ministry of Defence on Project Armada, a £220million PFI Scheme for the provision of serviced accommodation for 1650 Royal Naval personnel at HM Naval base, Devon; and
- advising Powerminster (a subsidiary of Gleeson Plc) on their Facilities Management sub-contract for Grove Village Social Housing PFI, which was a £99million Social Housing PFI.
