Stephen is a Partner and Head of the Ashfords Employment and Human Resources Team. Acting predominately for employers and senior executives across the country, he focuses on pragmatic and practical solutions for clients, providing advice on all aspects of employment law issues, from the beginning through to the end of the employment relationship, and post termination.

Stephen represents clients in contentious matters in the Employment Tribunal, High Court and the appellate Courts. In particular, Stephen has dealt with claims of unfair dismissal, complicated and high profile discrimination matters, equal pay, and seeking the enforcement of and defending restrictive covenants injunctions.

Stephen also acts for clients in non-contentious matters, advising on sensitive employment issues, disciplinary, dismissal and grievance procedures, redundancies, business re-organisations and TUPE issues. He also has extensive experience in preparing and reviewing employment agreements and other employment related documentation.

He has recently acted for a large international business, a Hedge Fund, , national airline and numerous colleges and universities. He has also represented senior executives, radio and sport personalities  and advised on group actions brought by lawyers and high profile City bonus cases.
