Mark specialises in all forms of building and engineering contracts, consultants' appointment agreements and acting for clients (both as claimant and defendant) in contentious matters. Clients include banks, commercial and private developers, contractors, sub-contractors, public sector, consultants and joint-venture entities / consortia.

Mark is Partner in the Construction department. He originally joined Ashfords in 1999 and returned as a Partner in December 2007, having spent thirteen months at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Brisbane, Australia.

Mark is a member of Constructing Excellence South West Devon and Exeter Club and the Adjudication Society. Mark has also given numerous seminars to the construction industry (Chartered Institute of Builders, Royal Institute of British Architects, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Construction Industry Training Board) and educational institutions and was a Mediator in the Exeter County Court Scheme.

Recent work includes:

• Advising major Australian consortium bidder in $3.2 billion PPP project for construction and operation of the Airport Link toll road and Northern Busway (partially tunneled) road in Brisbane, Australia;
• Advising a major national bank on a construction contract and collateral warranties in relation to new housing development in Plymouth, Devon;
• Advising a major Australian Contractor on tender documents for construction and operation of Recycling Facility and Waste Transfer facility;
• Advising a major Australian Contractor on tender documentation relating to services contracts for gas and electricity distribution and capital works projects in Victoria, Australia;
• Advising Queensland Government Owned Company on tender documentation for renewable energy project;
• Advising Australian major contractor on contractual documentation relating to acquisition of 5 wind farms.
