Andrew specialises in acquisitions and disposals and landlord and tenant matters. His clients include commercial investors and developers, occupiers and public sector bodies.
Andrew joined Ashfords as an Associate in 2005 and was made Partner in 2007. Before joining Ashfords, Andrew worked for over 20 years at various City of London law firms. He joined the Commercial Property Department of Nabarro Nathanson (now Nabarro) in 1982 where he remained until 1996. Andrew then joined Titmuss Sainer Dechert (now Dechert) and, in 2000, he moved to Clyde & Co.
Significant projects recently undertaken include:
- Advised a private investment company on the acquisition of a freehold investment property comprising a mix of commercial and residential premises in Earls Court Road, London SW5 for in excess of £1m and the sale by way of auction of a freehold investment property comprising ten retail units in Commercial Street, Batley for in excess of £1.3m (both completed July 2011);
- Advised the sponsor in relation to the property aspects of the 16 site, £60 million North West Fire and Rescue Services PFI project which achieved financial close in February 2011 and currently advising a sponsor in relation to a further UK Fire and Rescue Services PFI project and a UK Police Service PFI project;
- Acted for a regional development agency (as landowner) in connection with the development:
- Of 77 dwellings (including an affordable element) at Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset and, following the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Games), the transfer of the scheme to the developer. LOCOG also joined in to the development agreement to facilitate use of the housing as an athletes village during the Games;
- By Dorset County Council of a new school at Chesil Cove, Osprey Quay which is due to complete in early 2012. The development agreement includes provisions allowing use of the school during the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games;
- Disposal of freehold investment property in Lombard Street, London EC3 for in excess of £45m;
- Acquisition by way of agreement for lease of a new build 64,000 sq ft manufacturing facility near Gloucester of with an annual rent of in excess of £300,000k;
- Advised a regional development agency on an integrated project for the Innovation Centre at the University of Exeter. This included the funding for the construction of Phase ll along with the restructuring of the property interests of Phase l to facilitate the appointment of a new operator; and

Pre-letting of a new build office/light industrial property extending to some 18,000 sq ft at Westfield Business Park, Long Road, Paignton, Devon.
