Rhiain is a Partner in the Employment Team. She specialises in advising and working with public sector employers including housing associations and local authorities.

Rhiain is a Partner in the Employment department. She qualified in 1990, joined Ashfords in 1995 and was made partner in 1999.

Rhiain is an experienced speaker, and has provided training to other employment lawyers through a national training company and training to college HR managers through a FE HR Forum.

Recent advice includes:

• advising a housing association on handling a serious complaint against a warden, to include advice on disciplinary process;
  
• defending a sex discrimination (gender re-assignment) claim against a college to include securing a £5000 costs award;
• providing strategic advice on harmonising pay scales and terms and conditions;
• advising several public bodies on large scale restructures and redundancy programmes; and
  
• providing HR policy and contract reviews.
