Rachel is a Partner and Head of the Family Department specialising in matrimonial law including child care, divorce, financial settlement, pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and private children law matters. Clients are local authorities as well as parents, children and guardians, company directors and private individuals. She has also represented a number of Company Directors, high net worth individuals and landed estates.

Rachel joined Ashfords in 1988 and qualified as a solicitor in 1990.

Rachel is a member of the Children Panel, the Solicitors Regulation Authority - Advanced Family Law Accreditation Scheme, and a member of Resolution and Lawyers for Children.

Recent projects include:

• A High Court case involving false allegations of sexual abuse where client was exonerated. The case involved a 17 days fact finding hearing and gave guidance on the use of expert evidence; and
  
• A Court of Appeal case which involved children and the basis upon which cases should or should not be adjourned.
