Peter is a Partner in the Trusts and Estates Team and also heads the firm's Equity Release Team which has a national presence and reputation in its field. He therefore has a good all round working knowledge of the issues affecting the private client in their later years.
Peter has extensive experience in advising clients on Wills, Estate Planning and Inheritance Tax and regularly deals with Powers of Attorney and Office of the Public Guardian matters.
Ashfords Equity Release Department is solely dedicated to the legal processing of equity release lifetime mortgages and reversion schemes, as well as the associated work that may become necessary during these transactions such as Transfers of Equity and Lease extensions.
Peter joined Ashfords Tiverton in 1997 and was made a Partner in 2006.
Peter is currently the chairman of Age Concern Tiverton Cullompton and District. He is also a member of Action on Elder Abuse, Solicitors for the Elderly, the Alzheimers Society and is one of the co-founders of the Equity Release Solicitors Alliance.
Peter has given presentations to:
- Age Concern Groups across the country on Lasting Powers of Attorney;
- a local disability charity on Discretionary Trusts, Wills and Inheritance Tax;
- Local Probus and WI clubs on Wills and Inheritance Tax;
- Retirement Plus, Bridgewater Reversions and guests invited at the launch of IERAA; and

numerous client seminars on Equity Release, Wills and Powers of Attorney.
He is happy to be approached by organisations for talks and seminars on issues affecting the private client.
