City Business Club Re-Launches

Introduction

Many of Plymouth's aspiring business professionals will be attending the re-launch of 'pybc' on Friday 2 March, the city's very own club forum for up-and-coming people working in local commerce.

Previously known as Plymouth Young Business Club but dormant since 2004, 'pybc' is being re-launched to create a new business forum and focus for rising professionals in the Plymouth business community, and to harness their talents for the benefit of the city.

And to kick things off in style, pybc is hosting a special lunch at the City College's training restaurant followed by a talk by Steve Lobb and Simon Laslett of Hartnell Taylor Cook about the development of one of Plymouth's most recent and exciting landmarks, the Drake Circus Shopping Centre. Over 100 invitations have been sent out for the event.

pybc coordinator and trainee solicitor Will McKenzie comments: "In re-launching pybc, we have the specific aim of providing Plymouth's up-and-coming commercial business people with the opportunity to forge and maintain important relationships and business contacts. We hope to recruit members from all areas of business and attract a broad spectrum of commercial interests.

"Whilst pybc meetings will have an informal atmosphere, there will be a serious commitment to advancing local businesses and benefiting the whole of the Plymouth business community."

Supported by local solicitors Ashfords, pybc is a non-profit making organisation and any money raised from events will be ploughed back in to provide future pybc activities as well as supporting nominated local charities, see www.pybc.org.uk

The pybc re-launch will be held b etween 12.00pm and 2.00pm on Friday 2 March 2007 at City College Plymouth, (formerly known as Plymouth College of Further Education), Points West Training Restaurant, Kings Road, Devonport, Plymouth PL1 5QG.
