Monday 10th October 2011
A former Tiverton High School pupil on a quest for a medal at the 2016 Olympic Games has taken a further step towards achieving his ambition by moving near the British Triathlon National Performance Centre.
Simon Cooper, 17, who was crowned sports personality of the year at Exeter College last year, has now flown the nest to begin his A level studies at Loughborough College so that he can train at the NPC which is based at Loughborough University.
Simon, a County swimmer and National finalist, is part of the British Triathlon World Class Performance Olympic Talent Squad. He finished 2nd overall in the 2010 British Youth Triathlon Series and won the Junior World Biathle Championship (Swimming and Running) in Monaco 12 months ago.
