New Education Partner joins Ashfords
Tuesday 26th October 2010
Ashfords has welcomed new Partner, Helen Jones, as Head of Education at their Bristol office.
Helen joined the firm this week from The Girls’ Day School Trust, the largest group of independent schools in the UK, where she was Head of Legal.
Helen qualified as a solicitor at Herbert Smith in 2002, where she specialised in litigation, until moving in house with The Girls’ Day School Trust in 2007. In her previous role, she advised Heads, Senior Leadership Teams, Trustees and Directors on a broad range of educational issues including disability discrimination and SEN, exclusions and appeals, educational negligence, safeguarding and child protection, and parent contracts.
A keen linguist, Helen speaks German, as well as French to an intermediate level. Helen is originally from Weston-super-Mare, and is excited to be moving back to the south west.
She said: "I am thrilled to be joining such a forward looking firm, and delighted to have the opportunity to develop the education practice here at Ashfords".
Andrew Betteridge, Managing Partner at the Firm's Bristol office, said: "We are delighted to have Helen on board as our new head of education.
"She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as strong contacts in the education sector.
"This shows Ashfords' commitment to hiring the best and, despite the difficult economic climate, reinforces our will to grow and develop as a business in the south west."
