Friday 5th February 2010Ashfords Solicitors is pleased to announce that it has been appointed to the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) legal panel on a four year contract with effect from 1st April 2010. The result of a competitive tender process, the newly formed panel is structured to combine national and regional expertise to best effect.
The 15 strong legal panel replaces the 21 appointed firms from the two predecessor bodies to the newly formed HCA; English Partnerships and The Housing Corporation.
The Homes and Communities Agency is the single, national housing and regeneration delivery agency for England. Its role is to create opportunity for people to live in high quality, sustainable places. The HCA provides funding for affordable housing, brings land back into productive use and improves quality of life by raising standards for the physical and social environment. Andrew Rothwell, Partner at Ashfords, commented:
“Ashfords is delighted to be included on the HCA legal panel. The selection process was demanding but has produced a very strong national team to support the in-house HCA legal department. We are very pleased to be part of that team.
“We believe that the impact of the HCA will progressively increase as it continues to establish its central role in coordinating the work of various stakeholders involved in the creation of homes and communities where people want to live.”
