Ashfords advises on transaction with ex-Dragons Den star
Thursday 1st December 2011
Leading South West law firm Ashfords LLP and corporate finance advisers Baker Tilly have advised on the investment into Bristol based recruitment consultancy Timothy James Consulting (TJC) by private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw, headed by former Dragons Den star James Caan.
The move will enable TJC, which has offices in London, Bristol and Manchester, to double its staff in the next 24 months and increase its turnover to more than £30 million. It will also enable co-founder Peter Bennett to exit the business.
Ashfords provided legal advice to Chris O'Connell, CEO and co-founder of TJC, on the transaction and drew upon its significant experience in advising on private equity transactions to ensure the best outcome for all involved.
Andrew Betteridge, Corporate Partner at Ashfords, said: “We were very pleased to be asked to assist Chris on this transaction. We were able to use our extensive knowledge and experience of acting for private equity funds and on private equity transactions to ensure that Chris was provided with the best possible outcome. We wish Chris and the team every success and look forward to working with Chris over the coming years”.
Baker Tilly corporate finance partner Nick Harber, who led the advisory team, said: “TJC is an outstanding business with strong client relationships and a great management team. It is now perfectly positioned to achieve its ambitious growth plans.”
