Accolade for trust disputes lawyer
Thursday 1st December 2011
South West lawyer Robert Horsey has received recognition for his expertise in complex trusts disputes, and gained an award from leading worldwide professional body STEP.
Robert, a Partner at Ashfords LLP, achieved a Distinction in the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes, which is provided by the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners and Central Law Training (CLT).
The qualification, which is aimed at trust administrators and managers, lawyers and advisors to PI insurers, is designed to help practitioners "future-proof" trusts against litigation, and helps them identify and manage potential risks and claims arising in connection with the creation and administration of trusts. It is a new course run by STEP started for the first time year, making Robert one of only a handful of solicitors across the country with this accreditation.
Robert, who specialises in complex contentious wills, trust and related property matters said: "I am very pleased to have gained this recognition from such a significant professional body. I have many years experience in the field of trusts and estates disputes, but as with any area of legal work, the law changes regularly, so working towards qualifications such as this helps stay on top of the game - and to gain a distinction was particularly satisfying!"
