Solicitor - Commercial IP / Trademark
We are looking for a 3-5 year PQE lawyer or trade mark professional to join a busy team dealing with high quality IP, commercial work across the country and overseas with a strong bias towards trademarks. The type of client ranges from the SME, to multi nationals, to public bodies. The trademark work includes advice on registerability, opposition work, management of client trademark portfolios, strategic advice on the protection use and exploitation, drafting and advising on commercial contracts including some technology contracts.
The successful candidate will also undertake day to day supervision of paralegals. They will be expected to work with the Partners in the department to develop and secure new client relationships. They must have a strong background and experience in IP and trademark law ideally gained experience at a major regional or City solicitors or trademarks firm. This is an excellent opportunity for progression.

Associate - Agriculture
We are looking for an experienced agricultural lawyer, preferably with a contentious background, capable of marketing to an established and expanding client base from our Taunton & Tiverton offices. A knowledge of rural property is essential.
We seek a candidate with an established specialism in the agricultural sector and, in particular, agricultural tenancies and associated litigation, as well as regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background knowledge of agriculture/farming (preferably with contacts and experience in the Devon and Somerset area) and with an understanding of farming issues such as single farm payments and farm business tenancies etc. Awareness of new developments affecting farmers and landholders, such as solar energy and diversification into trading activities, would also be helpful.
We provide advice to farmers, landlords and tenants of agricultural land, and businesses in the agricultural sector. We act for owners of landed estates providing advice on matters such as property issues, trusts, tax, succession planning and sporting rights. We advise on diversification, the sale and purchase of farms, rural businesses, and sporting rights. We deal with agricultural disputes, environmental issues, access issues, entitlements and grants.

Paralegals - all office locations
We regularly have opportunities across the firm for Paralegals providing assistance to Partners and other fee-earners and are therefore happy to receive speculative applications from direct applicants on an ongoing basis.
Successful candidates will need to manage client files (including financial information), ensure instructions and procedures are followed and maintain the use of the firm's systems. They will be client focused, flexible, organised and have a good eye for detail.
Training will be given to ensure that an efficient and cost effective legal service is provided to the firm's clients at all times.
For more senior roles, a law degree and the Legal Practice Certificate will be desirable.
These roles may suit candidates looking to secure a training contract in the future.
