Corporate Tax

Ashfords' Corporate Tax Team advise on the full range of corporate tax issues that arise on corporate and commercial property transactions advising a range of companies from listed plcs to small owner/managed businesses.

We also provide stand alone advice to clients on corporate tax issues as and when they arise and have a wealth of experience advising on structuring termination payments for employers when employees leave the organisation, advising on joint ventures and setting up employee share schemes.

Work handled includes:

  • company mergers, sales and acquisitions;
  • group reorganisations and reconstructions;
  • Management Buy Out (MBO);
  • Management Buy In (MBI);
  • cross broader and multi-jurisdictional tax issues;
  • exit strategy for shareholders including share buy backs;
  • VAT on commercial property transactions;
  • stamp duty and stamp duty land tax planning; and
  • employee termination payments.

Recent work undertaken includes:

  • Schlumberger Oilfield UK plc - various company acquisitions;
  • Viridor (South West Water) - various company acquisitions;
  • South West of England Regional Development Agency - VAT and stamp duty land tax advice; and
  • Poltair Homes plc - general tax advice.
