Atisreal and Ashfords instructed on major site in Bath

Introduction

Atisreal has been instructed by Bath Press to manage the disposal of their site at Lower Bristol Road close to Bath City Centre.

The site, which is nearly 5 acres (1.92 ha) is on an important route (A36) and borders the major regeneration site Bath Western Riverside. Present site coverage is approximately 70%.

The site had been a printing works for many years until the closure of the business in the first half of 2007.

In a competitive pitch, Atisreal clinched the instruction against a number of other property consultancies. The Atisreal office in Bristol is managing the project.

Peter White, a director at Atisreal commented: "We are delighted to have won this instruction as a site of this calibre and in this location does not come along very often.

"We expect interest to be very strong, not least because of the range of options that this site presents."

Bath Press has also confirmed that Ashfords will provide the legal support for the transaction. Led by Jo Clarke the work will be managed by the Bristol Office of Ashfords.

Jo Clarke commented: "This is a large site close to the city centre offering an excellent development opportunity.

"Ashfords has a growing and talented commercial property team in Bristol and this instruction illustrates the work they are able to manage."

For Bath Press, Matthew Robson said: "We were impressed by the presentation from Atisreal and the team they have assembled to support us.

"It was with great regret that we announced the closure of Bath Press making the disposal of the site inevitable. It is important to us that this process is sympathetically and professionally managed and in Atisreal and Ashfords we are confident this will happen."
