The Supreme Court and Privy Council have revised their respective Practice Directions with effect from October 2016

07.11.16

The minor amendments have been made to:

  • Ensure that the legal costs of appeals to the Supreme Court are minimised.
  • Ensure that the agreed statement of facts and issues to be filed by the parties is a neutral document, rather than one to be used for advancing a party's case.
  • Make express provision to the procedure for claiming legal costs.
  • Require parties in Privy Council cases to indicate whether they invite a departure from a decision of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.
