Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010 - Claiming against insolvent defendants

After much delay, the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010 (the 2010 Act) came into force on 1 August 2016. The 2010 Act aims to assist parties wishing to claim against insolvent companies and individuals who supply professional services by allowing them to claim directly against their insurers.

The Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Regulations 2016 (2016 Regulations) came into force on 31st October 2016. The Regulations replace the Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding (Register) Regulations 2016 and make a number of amendments that affect local authorities.

Court of Session confirms that contracting authorities are not required to allow a tender to be corrected after the deadline


Contracting authorities are obliged to observe the principles of equal treatment, transparency and proportionality when undertaking a procurement process. What happens when a tenderer seeks to rectify an omission after the deadline? If a contracting authority refuses to evaluate, is that acceptable?
