Passing on the Caring Mantle

Introduction

Roborough House Limited, which owns and operates the care home Roborough House, was recently sold by Christina Griffith and Frank Morrison to a well known Somerset based care home operator, Welmore Finance Limited, following an introduction by John Crocker at leading business agent Christie & Co.

Roborough House is a unique care home employing over 40 people for the provision of specialist health and social care support to adults following illness, surgery or social crisis, with physical disabilities including brain injury.

The setting of the home, in Woolwell, Plymouth, between the rivers Plym and Tamar with the natural harbour of Plymouth Sound to the south and Dartmoor National Park to the North enables it to provide a relaxing location for the treatment of its residents.

Christina Griffith and Frank Morrison were represented by Ashfords solicitors with a team that included Karl Taylor and Brian Farrell (Corporate), Tim Heal (Property), Angus Bauer (Tax) and Charles Pallot and Linnea Keldusild (Employment).

Giles Livingstone, who represents the Buyer and is newly appointed to the Roborough House Limited board comments: "I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue the development of this excellent care home, providing quality specialist nursing services to younger physically disabled clients, including those with brain injury and complex and challenging needs."

Frank Morrison comments: "We are very pleased to have sold our business, the new management of which are committed to building on the success of this well established care home and we believe that the home has great prospects for the future."

Condy Mathias accountants of Plymouth and Hazlewoods accountants of Cheltenham were instrumental in negotiating key aspects of the deal. Richard Baker of Condy Mathias comments: "Condy Mathias have worked with Christina and Frank for many years and we are delighted to have assisted in the sale of Roborough House Limited."

Bond Pearce LLP acted for the Buyer.
