It aims to show how hungry executive appetites at meetings and conferences might be satisfied whilst also looking after hardworking local food and drink producers at the same time.
The forward-thinking initiative is the brainchild of Ashfords solicitors and Taste of the West, the region's support network for development and quality in local food production.
Over 100 guests from Exeter's top businesses and professional firms have been invited to the event at Ashford House to sample the very best of local food and drink, and to hopefully buy more local produce for their own corporate entertainment. The Lord Mayor of Exeter Norman Shiel and Lady Mayoress will also be present to sample the local fare.
Celebrating some of the county's most talked about food producers, corporate guests will be invited to trial the delicacies on offer from Proof of the Pudding, Posh Nosh and Effings.
For liquid relief, wine will be uncorked by Down St Mary, Yearlstone, Sharphams, Old Walls, Boyces at Manstree, and Pebblebed vineyards, while the non-alcoholic alternatives will include Devonia Spring Water and Four Elms Fruit Juice.
Each food producer will present an item to highlight one area of their expertise, from canapés (Proof of the Pudding) to Petit Fours (Posh Nosh) and pate, cheese and anti pasta (Effings).
Ashfords' Partner George Wilkinson said: "Ashfords works with and for the West Country food and drink sector, and we actively support the use of local suppliers for our own entertaining.
"Although many other professional firms and businesses in the Exeter Area support the local food and drink sector, not all are fully aware of what is available.
"This event offers a tremendous opportunity for South West Producers to showcase their produces, and I am delighted Taste of the West and Ashfords are able to host this event."
Taste of the West CEO John Sheaves said: "The initiative taken by Ashfords is excellent for Taste Of The West and its members, providing a useful tool as part of our overall strategy to champion the South West's exceptional food and drink.
"Serving local food and drink on the corporate menu provides professionals and businesses with an excellent USP. "I anticipate that this event will enable professionals to see the opportunity in local food for their businesses, and incorporate it not only into their entertaining but also their day to day business."
