Ashfords have just taken over two floors of Raymond Penny House, adjacent to their existing offices in Gotham House and Gotham Chambers This has created a large triangle of linked legal offices in the town centre.
The two new recruits are residential property solicitor, Pauline Drake, who is already well known in the local area, and experienced criminal law solicitor Jeremy Asher.
Pauline Drake is an accomplished residential conveyancing lawyer with a strong track record of close personal service to her clients for 20 years.
Crime specialist Jeremy Asher has been practicing all aspects of criminal law for nearly a decade and is a duty solicitor at Police stations and courts.
Ashfords has strong historical connections with Raymond Penny House, named after Raymond Penny who founded the practice that became Penny & Harward solicitors in Tiverton in the 1930s.
The local firm gradually expanded and changed its name to Ashford, Sparkes & Harward in the late 1970s. The firm is now known as Ashfords and has become one of the region's top law practices.
The practice previously occupied Raymond Penny House until the early 1960s when it moved into Gotham House. Ashfords' Tiverton office managing partner, John Smith, said:
"The growth of the Tiverton Office over the last few years has resulted in the need for more accommodation. This continued expansion shows the firm's commitment to providing the full range of services in the Tiverton area.
"Ashfords now has seven partners and sixty one legal and admin staff working in its three adjacent Tiverton offices, and we can offer a full service across every legal specialism.
"I'm delighted to welcome experienced lawyers, Pauline Drake, to our residential property department and Jeremy Asher to our crime team. They are both already making their mark."
