Introduction
Ashfords undertake a significant amount of work in the area of Divorce including the resolution of financial issues. The divorce rate is falling but is still running at 12.2 divorcing people per 1000 married population according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Like it or not and for good reason or none, divorce can blight or enhance (there are always two sides) the lives of a significant number of people many of whom would not be ordinarily involved in court cases.
Divorce procedure itself is relatively straight forward. What is more difficult and generally more significant is resolution of financial issues known as 'ancillary relief'.
Many families have a range of assets these days and we find early advice is essential and as a matter of policy we will make ourselves available at short notice for that important first meeting.
