Recent work undertaken includes:

  • The Department acted for a client who suffered a stroke following injuries received as a passenger in a road traffic accident. She is now severely disabled and requires 24 hour care in her own specially adapted accommodation. Just prior to trial in the High Court, compensation was agreed at a total figure of £2,300,000.00.
  • We recovered £50,000 in damages when we acted for a client who was involved in a farming accident. Our client was helping a friend repair a mower on the back of a tractor when the tractor was started and a two foot long blade came off causing significant injuries to our client's ankle.
  • We have acted for a client involved in a motorcycle accident in London who was travelling on the inside of a lane of stationary traffic when a passenger in a vehicle in that queue of traffic opened the door striking our client's right hand causing significant injuries. Our client's claim for general and special damages including a large loss of earnings settled for £207,500.
  • We recovered £7,250 compensation for a client involved in a road traffic accident in which her silicone breast implant was banged and had to be replaced.
  • We acted for a client who was sexually abused as a child when in care and we were able to settle our client's claim for £40,000.
  • We acted for a client who was involved in a road traffic accident when an oncoming vehicle collided with our client's vehicle head on, causing our client severe multiple injuries to both legs. This case involved the assistance of Case Managers and our client's claim settled for £300,000.
  • We acted for a client who was injured at work when he was picked up in a clamp with a pallet of bricks and dumped on the ground. We recovered £52,000 in compensation for our client.
  • We acted for a client who suffered an injury from a trolley being pushed by a steward on an aircraft which injured our client's elbow causing a tennis elbow type injury. Our client received approximately £2,000 in compensation.

Legal Aid is no longer available for the majority of personal injury claims. For information on alternative forms of funding please see funding arrangements.

We hold a Legal Service Commission Franchise for Family, Crime and Personal Injury matters and are able to offer public funding (Legal Aid) for those who are eligible, dependent on the nature of your claim and your financial circumstances. Public funding helps those who cannot afford solicitors' costs.

The Legal Services Commission has on its website at
www.clsdirect.org.uk a calculator which you can use to determine whether you might qualify financially for Legal Aid. Alternatively, we would be happy to advise whether you qualify and if so help you to complete the application forms.
