![]() More new partners and legal staff for Ashfords in the West CountryIntroductionExpanding West Country solicitors Ashfords has attracted six more top lawyers to its talented legal teams, bringing the practice's headcount to a record 54 partners and 270 legal staff. Three new highly experienced partners have joined the Exeter office, further strengthening the firm's specialist legal expertise. They are trusts & estates expert Michael Alden; company & commercial lawyer Karl Taylor and PFI and projects specialist Mark Jury. In addition, construction law expert and partner Eric Livingston, commercial law associate Will Hull and commercial property associate Iain Bray have also all joined the firm's Bristol office boosting the range of legal services offered in the city. Michael Alden moved to Ashfords in Exeter from top 100 law firm Shoosmiths. He has 13 years experience in advising on private client work for trusts and estates, including dealing with the administration of complex estates, complex will drafting, inheritance planning and tax planning for high net worth clients and their families. Karl Taylor heads the firm's corporate knowledge management function in the company & commercial department in Exeter.Hehas worked for several top City law firms and, most recently, for one of the top corporate law firms in Essex specialising in corporate mergers & acquisitions and banking. He has wide ranging experience acting for clients of all sizes and spheres of business, and in many jurisdictions including India, Indonesia, Australia and other countries in the Asia Pacific region. Mark Jury spent eight years working in the City of London before moving to Ashfords Exeter office from the project finance department of the international law firm Norton Rose. He specialises in domestic and cross boarder PPP/PFI projects, project finance, joint venture arrangements and commercial contracts. He has acted for the UK and overseas Governments and public sector bodies, project companies, banks, sponsors and contractors on many UK and overseas projects. Eric Livingston joined Ashfords from national law practice Osborne Clarke and leads the construction team in the firm's growing Bristol office. He is a member of the Society of Construction Law and the Adjudication Society, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Building. He has considerable experience in contentious construction law and procurement advice, resolving construction disputes, working with clients to help manage construction contracts, and advising on PFI/Projects. He has acted for a broad range of contractors, employers and utility clients in mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation. Iain Bray joined Ashfords from Bevan Brittan and is an associate in the commercial property department in the Bristol office. He specialises in development, regeneration, landlord and tenant, licensed property and secured lending, dealing with Development Agencies, Leisure and Licensed Industries, Commercial Developers and NHS Bodies. Will Hull is an associate in the commercial team at Ashfords Bristol office and joined from Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons. Previously he was an in-house lawyer with Hewlett Packard. He specialises in all aspects of commercial law, in particular IT law, intellectual property and commercial contracts.
